Home Sweet Hospital

Greetings from the hospital, our new home away from home! The babies decided it might be fun to celebrate my birthday in the hospital this past week! Where else would you get a personalized cake from the nursing staff and a room full of birthday flowers and balloons?  When we went in for a routine appointment on Monday, we found out that I was having contractions and had to be admitted to the hospital immediately. Oh how God was watching over us and His timing was perfect! I wasn’t feeling these contractions at all, but they quickly started giving me medication to reduce the contractions and began monitoring me closely. We are so thankful for a wonderful team of nurses and doctors who have been taking good care of us each day! While I still continue to have some contractions, the medication is definitely helping my body to keep these babies in as long as possible.

We cannot thank God enough that these 4 little miracles are 21 weeks now!! We get to see them every day and they are each weighing between 8 and 12 oz.  We will continue to be here at the hospital until their “birth” day which we are praying will be at least 7 more weeks. It has definitely been a roller coaster of emotions this week, but most importantly right now Josh and I are thanking God for every day! I don’t think I have ever realized how precious and how much each day is truly a blessing! We know this is just another part of the journey and how beautiful it is to see God’s faithfulness in each day! During this week, Matthew 6:34 has definitely been our verse we keep reflecting on.

“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”

We know and trust God has every little detail in His hands! Another sweet blessing was even this last weekend, before we “moved in” to the hospital, Josh and I had decided to go out on one last date night. Knowing bed rest would be in the near future, Josh called it our “babymoon.” It was definitely no big fancy trip, but going out on a date night was a big outing for us these days! We celebrated by going to the Cheesecake Factory and getting a stroller! Yahoo! So blessed to call this man my husband! He has served me in countless ways these past few months and continues to sacrifice his sleep, daily workouts, and comfort to spend time with me at the hospital.

During this time, we thank you all for your constant love, prayers, and support! Prayer is once again the biggest gift to us! We would ask specifically for prayer with my body that it would continue to respond to the medicine and that the contractions would stay at a minimum with my cervix staying strong. We are praying for a long pregnancy and for lots of boredom, as excitement right now is not necessarily a good thing . We also continue to pray for strong growth and development with these 4 sweet babies. Through it all we are constantly praising God for His faithfulness in more ways than we can count!

But Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'”  Matthew 19:26

Sending lots of hugs x6!

We Love You Guys and are Praying for You! Can’t wait to see each one of these blessings!!! “Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep. Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.”

So happy to hear from you. I woke up this morning and prayed for you and josh and babies. I talked with grandmother Carol last week, she called to check on how we survived the hurricane and told me they had put you in the hospital. This last week has been a blur so it was nice to read your blog when we got home from church. I love the scriptures you shared. Alice Rushing
